In the Indian capital Delhi, a man disguised as a saint went to his wife’s house and beat her to death with a hammer. This information was revealed by Delhi Police sources. The incident took place in the Neb Sarai area of South Delhi on Wednesday midnight.

Police said that the name of the deceased woman is Kiran Jha. Her husband’s name is Pramod Jha. Pramod went to her house around 12 midnight yesterday and attacked her. Later in the morning, neighbors found her lying in a bloody state. That’s when the matter came to light. The exact reason for the murder is not yet known for sure. The police received information about Kiran Jha at around 4 am today, Thursday. CCTV footage from the area shows the accused Pramod Jha leaving Kiran’s house around 12:50 am. It is believed that he fled then.
Initial investigation revealed that 55-year-old Pramod Jha is a resident of Munger district of Bihar. He separated from his wife Kiran Jha 10 years ago. Kiran worked in healthcare in Delhi. Pramod returned to Delhi on August 1.
Kiran lived with her son Durgesh Jha, daughter-in-law Kamal Jha and granddaughter. Durgesh worked in a microfinance company in Darbhanga, Bihar. He was not in Delhi at the time of the incident.
A forensic team has reached the spot and collected evidence. The hammer used in the murder has also been recovered.
Police are conducting raids at various railway stations and bus stands to arrest accused Pramod Jha. Police say the reason for the murder is not yet clear, but the investigation is on.
